Key Facts from UGC RTI Response:

Kalinga University is a private university, recognized under Section 22 of the UGC Act to award degrees only through its main campus in regular mode.

Distance/Online Education by private universities like Kalinga is programme-wise and time-bound. Kalinga University was only recognised for offering ODL mode (Open and Distance Learning) for:

  • Academic Session 2019–20 (from Jan 2020)

  • Extended to 2020–2021 under specific regulations

No Off-Campus / Study Centers: As per UGC and Supreme Court rulings, private universities cannot operate off-campus centers or franchise institutes even within the same state without UGC approval.
Any such centre is illegal.

UGC has not granted any approval for Kalinga to operate off-campus study centres or franchise with private institutions for any course.

Degrees obtained via such unauthorized centres are NOT valid for:

  • Government jobs

  • Higher studies

  • Credential evaluation (WES, IQAS, NZQA, etc.)

  2. Demand proof of attendance, exam hall tickets, and bonafide certificates from students.
